Terms of Service

Last updated: October 27, 2026

1. The service

OCRtoText ("we", "us") provides a free optical character recognition (OCR) tool that converts photos, screenshots, and scanned PDF documents into editable text. The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose.

2. Acceptable use

You may use the service for documents you own or are authorized to process. You may not submit unlawful content, attempt to disrupt the service, reverse-engineer it, or use automated means to bypass usage limits. Digital PDFs with a text layer are free for up to ten documents per day; scanned pages, images and other GPU-recognized formats require a paid plan.

3. Results are not guaranteed

Recognition quality depends on the source material: resolution, lighting, contrast, handwriting, and layout all affect the output. Always review extracted text before relying on it, particularly for financial, legal, or medical documents.

4. Intellectual property

The text extracted from your documents remains yours. You grant us a limited license to process your documents solely for the purpose of providing the service. All elements of the OCRtoText website and branding remain our property.

5. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, OCRtoText and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service, including losses caused by errors in extracted text.

6. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. Questions:[email protected].
